This was something that had been in my mind for so long: to make a real judge badge for a friend of mine. She is the grooviest woman on earth, and happens to be a real judge (no, there is no leather suit or a helmet involved). So I made this badge for her, finding out at the same time that there is no source to find detailed picture of that badge. Every Judge Dredd -artist seems to have theis own vision of it…

So this is mine.

Made for The Finnish National Board of Education (FNBE) in November 2007. I tried to combine classic academic element like dorian capitels and the fire od wisdom in a bit organic style. Font face is Optima, which is one of the clearest cuts I’ve ever worked with.

Never done these before, so my first experience with gobos where designing ones for Nokia’s parties, organized by Louder. Gobos were used at a customer event, to produce feeling of a old-school blues bar.

“Arkipäivän kokemuksia köyhyydestä” is an anthology, a result of a writing contest about living in poverty in modern society. A good friend of mine, Juha Mikkonen was one of editors and he asked me, if I would be interested to contribute. After reading some of the writings there wasn’t any thoughts to say no.
